Upon receiving the first reports of an approaching storm from our Weather Service, J.W. Cotton personnel begin to "gear up":

· Mechanics check over and prepare all equipment.

· Equipment Operators are contacted, they are given instructions regarding probable start times when plowing and sanding will begin.

· A supervisor remains on duty tracking the storms progress into our area. Road conditions are monitored, so sanding / salting or snow plowing operations may begin at the proper time.

· Once snow removal and ice control work has begun, it continues until the storm ends and all work has been properly completed.
